Wild camping: La Manga, Spain
La Manga was the first town in Spain where we free parked. The first night we drove all the way along the La Manga peninsular to find a spot, we got as far as an impassable bridge (I cant see how anything other than a car can get over that bridge, there are scratches in the tarmac to prove it!). To the right of the bridge is a secluded car park with views of a small harbor and the sea beyond. There are no signs to say no parking and we didn’t get bothered by anyone. Only minus point is there are no facilities or shops within a sensible walking distance.
The next night we free camped about half way down the La Manga peninsular on some wasteland parking next to Dos Mares beach. It’s only just off the main road but its quiet, we didn’t get bothered by anyone all night and felt very safe. A beachside restaurant is within a very short walking distance (toilets) and shops are also just 10 minutes walk down the road. The beach here is pretty good especially if you’re into kite surfing or wind surfing.
