Rain…rain…more rain

Since leaving Tarifa we’ve had a sprinkling of rain almost every day but it seems that the closer we get to the UK the worse the weather gets by day! We spent a night at a municipal aire in Saint Amand Montrond and the rain hammered on the roof all night.

Yesterday we passed through Paris - literally.  Unlike the M25 the ring road cuts right through the city so we even got a brief glimpse of the Eiffel Tower.  We continued north-west past Lille, just stopping for dinner and a quick, overdue haircut for me!

Now we’re in Belgium and happy to find that McDonalds has wi-fi here.  But just wanted to share our distaste about the awful weather that we’re just not accustomed to!  The sky is dark and the rain hasn’t stopped since the night.

Next stop is, hopefully, a campsite near Amsterdam so we can get all our batteries fully charged and park safely while we go into the city for some damp sight-seeing.  Then we’ll be braving the soggy fields of Lowlands festival - hoping that the campervan area is on some good solid ground so we don’t get stuck there.

    Congratulations to both of you!

You’ve done so well on such a marathon journey. It will be a bit of a let down to get back here particularly with our rain through the summer as well as the winter.
