Kipor suitcase generator is on the blink!
Update: Generator is fixed now!
So we’re currently residing in the UK, working all the hours god sends to be able to do another season snowboarding in the Alps come January. We realise time is running out, there are a few things round the van that need some attention and other odd jobs that need to be completed before we leave. The Kipor generator stopped generating electricity some time back, which will need sorting if we are to work on our laptops while away next year.
We got the generator from www.peakgenerators.co.uk back in April. When we accepted delivery of the generator the choke lever was broken. Peak generators were very good and sent out a replacement lever. This time however their customer service seems to be non existent. They never answer the phone or reply to emails. Their website is still online selling Kipor generators so they are still in business.
So if you are thinking of buying a Kipor generator then Peak generators may not be the best place.
We might have to purchase the spare part from eBay but at £120 thats nearly half the amount we paid for the generator in the first place. We will keep you posted..

Hey guys. Sorry to intrude into your personal lives but my wife and I love your blog and have been following your adventures and getting tips for our travels next year. We wonder what kind of opportunities there are to work while travelling. We have a laptop and a combination of skills including AutoCAD (traffic engineering/design) and education (editing text and managing courses). Perhaps you could recommend something completely new that we might be able to do. Also, how did you surf the net while in europe? Feel free to check out our website. We’ve only just begun planning. We’ve bought a van to convert and are just starting to save now. Planning on heading off 2nd July, heading for barcelona, then east around the coast taking in france, italy, greece, turkey then home. Also, we’re going for 3 months - how important is a generator? Regards, Guy.
