We decided to spend the day snowboarding in Morzine rather than Avoriaz for a change. Good views from the Nyon end of Morzine, you can see lake Geneva in the distance. Snowboarding wasn’t very good though as the snow coverage was patchy in places and the piste map and piste markers just didn’t make any sense. Also the chairlifts all seemed difficult to use - at one point Lucy got her board stuck between the chair and snow and nearly went all the way back down - the operator didn’t even seem to be looking! We won’t be visiting there again.
Had a few runs through the Burton Stash in Avoriaz. I finally managed to work up the courage to hit the upside down boat. Well thats at least what I think it is, it’s big anyway!
We spent a few hours snowkiting in Switzerland. This was at the end of last month when the clocks changed but we didn’t even realise. That day we were 5 minutes away from getting stuck in Switzerland!
Lucy getting strapped into her board at the kite spot.
The bottom of the slope at St jean d’Aulps. We decided to give this ski area a visit as it’s part of the Portes du Soleil area and only a 10 minute drive from Morzine. Never again! The snow was extremely slow and you could count the number of runs on one hand!
Another picture of St jean d’Aulps.
Here is an image of Tanc in the Stash. We spent a day snowboarding with our French friends Pepelle, Tanc and his girlfriend Charlotte.
